Announcement by the Department of Economic Development of Taipei City Government
This year’s the Taipei Design Award 2026 competition was huge! Between March 10th and June 30th, we received an incredible 4,620 entries from 64 countries and regions across three main categories: Industrial Design, Visual Communication Design, and Public Space Design.
On top of that, we have the Taipei Impact Design Award (which we launched back in 2023). This special category focuses on design solutions made specifically for Taipei—tackling real-world economic, social, and environmental challenges. We got 205 creative proposals for this category alone!
After a lot of tough calls by our judge panel, the shortlist is officially in:
Taipei Design Award 2026: 139 shortlisted entries
Taipei Impact Design Award: 15 shortlisted entries
