1. About TAIPEI DESIGN AWARD
Taipei is a vibrant and innovative city. Since 2008, the Department of Industrial Development, Taipei City Government, organized the "TAIPEI DESIGN AWARD" with the vision of "making design a driving force for shaping a better future." It openly solicits outstanding works to transform Taipei into a hub for creative design, uncovering creative designs with business potential, encouraging social design significance, expanding design influence, and enhancing the added value of enterprises and products, thereby promoting the development of the design industry.
To advance sustainable urban development and strengthen the close connection between the TAIPEI DESIGN AWARD brand and the city of Taipei, the "Taipei Impact Design Award”was established in 2023. With the theme of "Sustainability & Inclusion," it collects works that address Taipei's urban issues, enhance citizens' living quality, or tackle urban sustainablity challenges. It encourages designs to incorporate innovative concepts such as sustainable development, resilient city, net-zero carbon emission, human care, and shared prosperity.
TAIPEI DESIGN AWARD is not just a competition, it is a platform for creative exchange and design sharing, promoting cross-domain communication and co-creating a better life, thereby driving the value upgrade of the entire industry chain.
Note: The award was first named Taipei Industrial Design Award from 2008 to 2011, and then was renamed Taipei Design Award starting from 2012.
