【 Description|
High Street Studios (HSS) is a creative space in downtown Kuala Lumpur, transformed from a pandemic-closed hostel into a hub for local businesses and culture. Tenants include creative studios, a bookstore, café, batik shops, and a traditional music store. A pocket park adds rare green relief, while bike parking encourages low-carbon access.
Studio Clap developed the visual identity and wayfinding in tandem with the site’s spatial renewal. Inspired by the modularity of historic shophouses, the system centers around a simplified “H” mark — extendable both horizontally and vertically. Applied across signage, print, and digital formats, it offers a flexible, scalable framework that merges branding with navigation.
The system balances utility and character — muted tones with bold accents, and legible, architectural typography. HSS is not just a visual identity, but a tool for connection and regeneration — offering a replicable model for human-centered design in urban contexts.

High Street Studios(HSS)
