Signal of Ware is a tableware series designed around tactile and auditory cues, providing users with feedback through these senses to enhance the dining experience for the visually impaired. Signal of Ware addresses challenges through remarkably simple designs: bell-equipped cups, soft-gel lined sauce dishes, grooved sushi plates, and ridged trays. These features not only explore new functionalities, forms, and aesthetic designs based on tactile and auditory cues but also enhance the blind’s sense of control during meals. Notably, this is not a specialized set for the visually impaired—non-visually impaired users can also derive extra enjoyment from its use.In terms of form, the upward-flared shape offers psychological security when held or carried, while its gentle, rounded appearance alleviates the fear often associated with tactile interactions for the blind. By prioritizing inclusive design that enhances dining pleasure for all users while addressing accessibility needs, this tableware series holds significant market potential.
