【 Description｜作品介紹 】
Cicada songs are a familiar sound of summer, yet few people truly know these insects.
We recorded the calls of 47 cicada species found in Taiwan and designed an interactive audio device that transforms their sounds into visible forms using 3D printing. By inserting a matching soundwave tube into the player, users can instantly hear each cicada’s unique call. The device is simple and intuitive to use.
To support the experience, we created a field guide and information cards featuring detailed illustrations and concise text that introduce the basic traits of Taiwan's cicadas.
Unlike most environmental education today, which relies heavily on online media, our toolkit encourages hands-on exploration and active listening. Through this fun and engaging process, we hope to bring people closer to the natural beauty of Taiwan's cicadas.

蟬鳴是夏天熟悉的聲音，卻少有人認識它們。
我們收集47種台灣蟬鳴聲，設計並製作了一組聲音播放裝置，透過3D列印將聲音轉化為實體的形狀，讓人們「看見」每一隻蟬的聲音，只要將聲波管置入裝置，就可以即時播放該種蟬的鳴叫聲，裝置操作方式簡單直覺，並搭配圖鑑與資訊小卡以精緻的插畫與簡潔文字介紹台灣蟬的基本特徵。 
相較於近年來大多仰賴網路影音的環境生態教育方式，我們希望透過這組更具互動性與體驗感的教育工具，讓人們親手探索、聆聽台灣蟬鳴，在輕鬆有趣的過程中拉近人與自然的距離。
