【Description|作品介紹】

The architectural designer+builder, NK, draws inspiration from nature, mimicking insects that transforms cocoons on tree leaves. Using whole bamboo, constructed a poetic space on a small bridge in the campus lakeside pathway, providing a shelter for rest in this open green area. NK innovated beyond traditional fire-bending bamboo, pioneering and innovating "Steam-Bending Bamboo" formed the arches, with treated fabric and bamboo paper for weather resistance, creating waterproof, translucent textures. Recycled fishing buoys allow airflow and layered binding. Without using nails and screws, all the connections between bamboo and skin are ratchet straps instead, in order to efficiently adjust the components and without impairing bamboo strength. Sunlight casts dancing shadows onto, while night lights twinkle like fireflies. Walking across feels like a journey of emerging from a cocoon. "Bridge Cocoon" highlights Taiwan's potential to use renewable materials in innovative architecture in sustainability. It aims to revolutionize bamboo structures, promoting a harmonious coexistence between human and natural ecosystem through "hands-on architecture."

建築創作者師法自然,仿效蟲隻築繭,以竹共構於校園羽松環湖秘境小橋,創造詩意空間供人遮風避雨駐足歇息。

設計者亦為施作者,突破傳統火烤彎竹,致力於蒸汽彎曲工法,革新「蒸汽彎竹」。橋體由12組大小漸變、高溫三維彎曲竹拱構成,螺旋環跨橋身兩側欄杆,次結構中徑竹交織成菱格網,形成6米高殼空間。竹構兩側如繭開裂氣口提供散熱,順應新竹風勢流通,讓行人欣賞湖光水色。

上皮層以織布立體車縫包覆竹繭,回收漁業海廢浮球撐托蓬頂與竹拱,產生間距利於透氣,外側弧體凹凸助雨葉滑落;蒸竹排出天然褐水成為繃布色染,體現材料循環利用永續。下皮層竹紙批覆,產生透光肌理,與布蓬皆經耐候防水處理,雙皮層以球繩綁固於竹,形成強韌如鼓面皮帳。

從數位設計到「用手思考建築」,展現圖紙與自然材料構築高度一致性。竹管與皮層間無使用鐵釘螺絲,全用綑綁器固定,讓構件能系統化修整抑或回歸大地。陽光夜燈下的膜構造,捕捉脈動光如皮影,創造橋行者如破繭而出的空間體驗。

竹曾為建築一環,因工業化受現代建材取代。橋繭反思建築可重拾再生材料與探索工法實踐嶄新面貌,體現人與自然的良善循環。
