【Description|

Monuments are used to pay tribute to individuals, but the traditional design of equal-height bronze sculptures is often far removed from the general public. In homage to Dr. Yen-Son Huang, a serial entrepreneur in Taiwan's semiconductor industry, we drew inspiration from the round form of a silicon wafer. Lifted the circle gently to create a focal point and attract crowds to gather so students and faculty could sit comfortably in it, making it a hub for communication and the collision of ideas. The seven steps incorporate Dr. Huang's philosophy of success: Mission (道), Trends (天), Terrain (地), Leaders (將), Methodology (法), Inclusion (容), and Path to Success (易). The robotic 3D-printed seating area, which uses gradient blue and water wave patterns to convey a futuristic sense, reflects the innovative spirit of NYCU. We want to utilize this opportunity to inspire social interaction through design, where everyone can interact, present their research, and even stare at the sky. We hope it will become a model for the future design of Monuments.
