The “Beski” Scientific Foundation aimed to establish a dedicated space for student and researcher activities in “Gonbad Kavous”, intending to elevate the city's scientific standing. Recognizing the importance of interdisciplinary connections in today's scientific landscape, the design shifted towards adaptable multipurpose spaces, fostering interaction and knowledge exchange through events, workshops, and seminars. This project embraces the concept of the "grandmother's" circular economy, prioritizing practicality and resource efficiency. It values available materials and their proportions, local craftsmanship, and the site's characteristics, reflecting an aesthetic that finds beauty in the process of such sustainability. For instance, the building's design integrates with the urban context, utilizing locally sourced materials and empowering local skilled workers. To realize the Iranian vision of a circular economy, the project adopts the principles of "honest tectonics" and "imperfect aesthetics," reducing resource consumption, waste, and construction costs while maintaining a sustainable approach.
