【Description｜作品介紹】

This project, situated at the ecological pond of National Hualien Vocational High School of Agriculture, addresses safety concerns with two scenic bridges. These bridges have deteriorated due to rusting steel structures and damaged pine wood planks and handrails. The aim is to repair and design the bridges to ensure safe access for faculty and students, fostering ecological education and showcasing indigenous connections to nature. LCC Architecture plans to integrate ecological education by transforming wooden walkways into vegetated observation platforms. These platforms provide spaces for observation and rest without disturbing the habitat of waterfowl. Two bridges, "Cloud Mountain Bridge" and "Vegetation Ascend Walkway," are designed with this goal in mind. Repairs prioritize sustainability: Reusing existing wooden planks, with concrete grouting molds, maintains the bridge's original texture, eventually recycling wood into road paving chips. Modular material planning minimizes material consumption.
