冰雪天氣時，橋樑纜索上覆蓋的冰雪較長時間無法消融，冰雪及其內包含的雜質易對纜索產生載荷負擔及腐蝕作用，同時纜索上凝結的冰塊受到外界因素的影響，會導致冰塊墜落，產生重大安全隱患。橋樑纜索除冰檢測設備可以通過滑輪沿纜索行進，採用高頻振動和高溫加熱達到除冰融雪的效果，且在通過纜索時可以傳輸檢測除冰后的纜索情況，其高效的作業模式順應了危險作業無人化的趨勢。
