24mm夾板屋 (The House of 24mm Plywood) 位在日本京都市一個寧靜的街角。簡單的山牆屋頂覆蓋在小小的房子之上，每一樓層折疊平行的夾板牆將房子隔成了九個單位。十字型、24mm厚的夾板牆支撐著這座建築，如同一堅固的結構牆系統，也體現了該空間的自然主義風格。小窗把舒適的陽光帶入客廳並打造出一樓和諧的廚房、儲藏室、以及閱讀空間，折疊牆則使住戶能在樓上享受美麗的街景和露台的天空。這棟建築麻雀雖小，卻提供了有多種功能、令人驚艷的會室，空間安排獨特，與陽光和微風達成美好的胡棟。我們的目標是在這棟建築中融合藝術創作和折疊牆面，讓生活空間也能成為小小的藝廊，展示大師的畫作系列。這些畫作增添了強烈的日本現代藝術感。它們也創造出一種舒適的氛圍，訪客走進空間時將會印象深刻。

This house is designed with partition walls that separates two areas made of thin and polyhedral 24mm plywoods. The thinness of the wall avoid the two areas to be separated firmly, and the undulating wall surface reflects and diffuses sunlight so that the difference of the atmosphere between two area becomes more clear. The 1st area is the center of the house in a cross shape, including the entrance hall, stair case, and the terrace on the second floor. The 2nd area, is the remaining part. The voids in the four corners of the house connect the air on the first and second floors. The sunlight, wind and sound of the city indirectly come in from the small windows that open in various places. This house is not only a living space, but also functions as a small gallery for Kyoto City that displays a collection of one of the famous Japanese artist. We designed not small rooms with poor relation with environment, but two spaces with different relationships with environment, where you can choose the space corresponding to the activity ranging from private and public, even working in the house for all day long in this COVID-19 situation. This is a house which realizes, so to say, soft isolation from the society.
