"The catastrophic earthquake in 21/09/1999 destroyed 105,479 houses across Taiwan." an infamous disaster and the life-claiming horrible night that most Taiwanese still recall. Two of us are both designers and firefighters. When we were conducting our disaster preparedness campaign, we were shocked and depressed when we realized that the vast majority of Taiwanese people did not prepare even a “basic” Disaster prevention evacuation kit ready at home, even though they fully aware of the importance of having one after the 9.21 happened. We’ve concluded that this is because people do not have a clear and correct understanding of “Where to store the evacuation kit?”, “What to put inside?” or “When should I replace the content?”...... lacking those knowledge imposes implementation difficulties in preparing an evacuation kit for themself. We have found that the current way of using pure literature, posters, or verbal explanations is ineffective in educating people about disaster prevention awareness. Therefore, starting from several redesigns of "teaching aids" used in our educational prevention events, we came up with a disaster evacuation kit that is both "educationally efficient" and "practically useful".

3 unique features of【Kit In Mind】
1. They are printed with a visual guiding design for people to easily comprehend and memorize the basic knowledge of disaster prevention.
2. By integrating ground mats and blankets for warmth into the backpack design, users don’t have to prepare the items for themselves
3. A unique fully-open design allows the bag to be used as a picnic mat and thus regularly replace the refuge materials inside the pack.
