【作品介紹 Description】

2021新竹光臨藝術節第一波展出的作品在隆恩圳國際燈區，現場共展示8件燈光作品，由來自澳洲、香港、荷蘭、日本、台灣等國際藝術家創作，穿插於隆恩圳水道與公園步行空間，在藝術燈光點綴之下，感受城市不一樣的美。

位於新竹的隆恩圳燈區，為台灣三大古圳之一，由臺灣田中央聯合建築師事務所以「奇幻森林」的地域意象，改造為親水公園。「圳」為閩粵方言，意指在田野裹灌溉用的水溝。

這次我們設計的燈光藝術裝置「光圳」的概念取材自「稻」，回應「當風吹過隔絕之地—未知境地之流」的命題。裝置形態借鑑插秧的方式，模仿風吹穀動時所泛起的稻浪美景，把消失的稻田風光重現在生命川流之上，透過三千八百條希望之光點亮整片城市綠洲。隔絕過後，光讓生命再度聚首一堂，影隨即交織在境地之間。

「稻」恆常地支撐著東大路的城區脈搏，與隆恩圳河旁兩側的花草樹木相映成趣，它既療癒身心，同時體現世間的絲絲暖意。光圳，在燈區內擔當祝願的角色，展現臺灣與世界攜手共同迎接未來美好世代的蒞臨，擺脫陰霾，喚起人們熾熱期盼的心。

Our light installation "Wishing field" is a response to the Festival’s theme ‘When the Wind Blows Through the Isolated Land - Unexpected Flow". Inspired by rice paddies, the design simulates rice fields waving in the wind, reproducing the lost scenery of paddies atop a river that flows with vitality. Thirty-eight hundred of these little lights of hope would then illuminate the greenery of the city. Following the social distancing, light reunites life, and life thrives once again in a place where light and shadow interweave in harmony.

The paddies support relentlessly the pulse of the city, complementing the greenery on the riverbanks of Longenzhen Canal. Not only do they heal weary souls—they embody the warmth in simple things. A channel of light acts as a prayer in these lantern sites, wishing Taiwan will walk hand in hand with the world to walk out of the shadows and welcome a bright future waiting ahead, to reinvigorate the passion present in everyone’s heart.
