【作品介紹 Description】

2020 桃園文創博覽會，坐落於富含歷史記憶的桃園龍岡眷村「馬祖新村」，其有「桃園將軍村」的稱號，是桃園市第一個經由文化資產保存的眷村。有別於以往城市策展的大型展演場地，缺乏高大灑落的軸線空間，也沒有寬敞的主題場館，取而代之是純樸的民居眷村紅磚灰瓦。室內空間狹小，一戶挨著一戶，聚成老兵們曾生活著的居家即景：有前庭、後院、榕樹、穿廊，整個園區就是一個活的歷史現場。
面對這個極為特殊的文化保存場域，在無法任意建構內部空間的限制下，設計採用桃園在地溫室農業結構的鍍鋅管料，塑造一架新的眷村外骨骼皮層，搭配在地紡織廠所生產的彈性科技紗與工業防水布，創造出新的展覽尺度與遊逛路徑，跨接室內外空間，達成遊園式穿梭的獨特身體經驗。經由色彩計畫的植入，三個提煉自眷村環境的色彩應用，作為空間區劃與展場動線引導的強烈視覺印象，並將自然生態納入眷村空間涵構，植物不再是裝飾，轉與空間設計縫合，成為內容主題思考的一環。園區自然的外部光線與設定於結構層內的燈具用來豐富空間層次，讓整體展區的視覺感在白天與黑夜時區裡呈現全然不同的質感，在為數眾多、彼此緊密相連的矮房中，打開潛藏在歷史中如同發光的盒子，發掘你所未見的桃園。

RUNNING TAOYUAN is presented at the historical “Matsu New Village,”which is the first military dependents' village in Taoyuan to be preserved as a national cultural heritage. The site is unique from other largescale curations in its lack of tall, vast axis spaces, and instead is composed of humble residential housings that were built with red bricks and grey tiles. The front and back yards, Banyan trees, and corridors piece into snapshots of life in the village.
Since the structure of the site can’t be altered, we utilized galvanize pipe materials from local greenhouse agriculture with elastic industrial yarn and waterproof cloth to create a soft-structure exterior. By doing so, the spaces are connected and create new viewing routes, presenting visitors with a unique bodily experience. The village's three most prominent colors are used as visual cues, while greenery is no longer a mere accessory but a key to complete the theme. The lighting is arranged within the interior structure complements natural light to present different impressions during the day & night. The clustered houses are like doorways to the past, beckoning visitors to discover the distinctive qualities of Taoyuan.
