模仿人造技術結構是Marc Hoogendijks設計的特點。 Serpentine長椅的靈感來自於使用連續紙條纏繞紙管旋轉而成的紙管構造方案。
由實心梣樹和多層樺木夾板製成，該長椅給人一種由連續的木條組製成之印象。為喚醒觀察者的好奇心，條帶的末端以鬆散方式地懸垂於框架上。

Characteristic to Marc Hoogendijks design is the mimicking of man made technical constructions. The Serpentine bench is inspired by the way a paper tube is constructed with a continuous strip of paper wrapped rotation after rotation around the tube.
 
Made in solid ash and laminated birch veneer the bench wants to give the impression to be made out of a continuous strip of wood. To awake the curiosity of the observer the ends of the strip are left hanging loosely draped over the frame.
